Movin’ right along
Moving your family is hard—moving your IMU Services doesn’t need to be!
Indianola is a great town, so what do you do when your home no longer fits your family? Finding the right home (or the ‘right now’ place to live) can be stressful: moving your fiber and utilities doesn’t need to be. If a move to a new residence is in your future, give our CRS office a call, and we can help!
Whether you are new to town, a returning customer, or a current IMU customer, the first step for any move is to fill out the Utility Service Application for each adult in the household. The application can be found on our website Indianola.com under the “Sign Up” tab. If you are renting, we need a copy of your lease, showing the names of the residents in the home, the address, and the name of your landlord. And finally, we need a picture of your state issued ID or driver’s license. If you would like Fiber service at your new place, call the fiber department as soon as you know your move-in day and get on the schedule. Depending on the install needs, it can take a couple weeks to get the fiber TV, Phone and Internet connected, so call early to get your service started as close to move-in day as possible.
To close out services at your current residence, again, give the CSR office a call, and we can get the process started. We try to schedule your disconnect to coordinate with the next resident to avoid a disruption of service, or can simply read it back to the landlord. Disconnects happen Monday-Friday between 8am and 3pm, so if you need same day service, call early in the day so we can try and get it on that day’s schedule. If you have fiber services, you need to unplug the equipment and bring it in to the CSR office to avoid being charged for the replacement cost. You can call and confirm the type and location of each piece of equipment with the fiber department, and if you are unable to locate or disconnect it, give us a call and we can describe the equipment, how it is unplugged, or schedule a tech to come to the residence and assist you.
