There are two types of electrical outages: scheduled and emergency. Scheduled outages include work performed for maintenance, repairs, or alteration of the system. Emergency outages include damaged wires, blown fuses, damaged or failed underground cables, damaged or failed transformers or weather-related events.

In the case of a scheduled outage, every attempt will be made to notify all affected customers. Typically, crews will go door-to-door to notify potential affected customers or hang informational tags on doors.

If an emergency outage occurs in your neighborhood, our crews will work quickly to make the repair and restore electrical service as soon as possible. They will do this in a safe and efficient manner. Often time the length of these outages is difficult to estimate, as the extend and type of damage can vary due to the complexity of the issue.
