Meet Chelsie Cunningham
Position: Customer Service Representative
Years of service: 3
Personal statement: “I truly take pride in my job and doing it well.”
If you’ve called IMU Customer Service department in the last three years, you may have spoken to Chelsie Cunningham. A veteran of the profession, she came to IMU after almost ten years combined at Citi Cards and Nationwide Insurance and uses the skills she’s learned along the way – as well as those she’s gained since joining IMU. You may also know her if you’re a contractor or builder coordinating with the utility on new and existing buildings under construction or renovation.
An Iowa native and Indianola resident with two kids attending ICSD schools, she takes local pride in doing her job well. It’s a good fit for someone who loves people – maybe even better than being a flight attendant, Chelsie’s original career goal!
One of Chelsie’s favorite aspects of her job is the relationships she’s formed with both her co-workers and customers. She enjoys that her job is customer-facing and offers the opportunity to meet new people and do something a little different every day.
Chelsie is proud to be a member of the customer service team and especially of how well they pull together when there’s a power outage – even when it’s caused by rogue geese!
“Once a goose took out an entire side of town’s power,” she shares. “We took close to 200 calls in such a short time and were able to get all of our customers’ questions answered so the guys could get power restored.”
It was a long day but satisfying for the whole team. Says Chelsie, “It’s really incredible how well we all work together to get things back to where they need to be.”
