I have a Professional Electrical Engineering license. I worked for 7 years doing electrical designs for utility, commercial, high rise, and critical environments. Then I switched to a new job where I was the electrical engineer at the Microsoft data centers in Des Moines where I was supporting operations, construction, and design review. Now I am writing standards for Microsoft’s global fleet of data centers.

Interestingly, I did not know there was an opening for the IMU board when I applied. I had applied for a position on a different board. Based on my background, I was asked if I wanted to be on the IMU board. I was happy with the chance to use my background to help our utilities grow. I think it was a great coincidence that when I applied, there was an opportunity that matched my skills even better

I have a wonderful wife and three great children. Most of my spare time is spent doing activities with the family. My kids are involved in various sports activities that I like to coach or watch.

We enjoy the kid/family activities that our city and county offer; dance, basketball, soccer, football, softball, trap, art, Annett Nature Center, Library, swimming, and Indianola Wellness Center. These are just some of the places and activities we like to join. I hope to see everyone around town enjoying these opportunities as well.

I am excited for the photovoltaic (solar panel) array we are about to start installing. I look forward to having a visible source of green energy that our utility is producing and using for our community. We also have our fiber department that is growing a lot. We have exceeded our expectations for customers since we started providing fiber to our community. We continue to expand and grow the areas we serve and look forward to the amazing opportunities in the future. I love seeing whenever someone new moves to town and asks who to use for internet services on social media platforms that IMU fiber is always who people are most satisfied with.
