Full Time Utility Services Representative

Indianola Municipal Utilities will be accepting applications for the position of Utility Services Representative in the Utility Services Department.  This position’s responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:  front-line customer service functions for municipal electric, water, communications, sewer, stormwater and recycling customers; receives payments for utility connections, utility bills, etc; balances cash receipts, utility payments, bank deposits, daily collections and disbursements; receives, dispatches and tracks requests for utility service problems; works with delinquent accounts for collection and service disconnection; assists customers in the selection and purchase of telecom products and services; trouble shoots basic telecom issues and schedules installation and service appointments; effectively communicates product and service information, billing procedures, feature functionality and equipment usage to each customer for all services.

Requirements include high school graduation, including or supplemented by courses in computer operations.  Three (3) years of experience working directly with the public and performing responsible clerical work, which includes computer operations and cash transactions or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
