Indianola Municipal Utilities will be accepting applications for the position of Part Time Utility Services Clerk in the Utility Services Department.  This position’s responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:  front-line customer service functions for municipal electric, water, communications, sewer, stormwater and recycling customers; receives payments for utility connections, utility bills, etc.; balances daily cash receipts, utility payments, collections and disbursements; works with customer assistance programs and sets up utility payment agreements; effectively communicate product and service information, feature functionality, billing procedures and equipment usage to each customer for all services; public relations and other related clerical work requiring confidentiality; provides assistance to other office employees.

Requirements include high school graduation or equivalent; experience in responsible clerical work, including computer operations or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities; ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public; ability to learn assigned tasks readily, to adhere to prescribed routines, and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
